I watched Boyhood last night. About a third of the way through the movie I was ready to turn it off. I am very glad I did not. I have been thinking about it all day. It seems to me to be perfectly post-modern and avant-garde, and a solid antidote to our reality programmed dominant culture.

I admit that I am right in Linklater's wheelhouse. It wouldn't surprise me if the film didn't resonate with others the way it does with me.

It also makes me regret not going to the University of Texas. Why didn't I go there?

Is there a sub-blog on Gawker where folks talk about films?
