Tyrell Copper and a friend tried to steal two bags of weed killer from a Palm Beach Gardens Home Depot Tuesday, South Florida police say. When someone spotted the crime and tried to stop the pair, Copper, 29, fled in a getaway car — only to leave one of his shoes behind.

Police spotted the car and pulled it over. And since life really is like a fairy tale, when police asked the occupants to get out, they noticed Copper was missing his right Nike. No word whether a cop got down on one knee, but the shoe did match the one left at the store. Copper remains in the Palm Beach County Jail, the Palm Beach Post reports.
