I've always liked Martha's Vineyard and have lived in a few resort communities, plus the online ad showed attractive, scantily-clad 20-somethings, so I streamed the first episode last week and right now I'm halfway watching the second while working on a spreadsheet.

The show has been billed as "reality" and a "docu-soap", which I gather is the same general format as The Hills (which I've never watched), but obviously The Vineyard isn't very real because someone writing for the local paper reviewed the first episode with a lot of snark and in the second, it's like they've just given up on the character's backstories and the idea that people would talk to each other like actual human beings.

Has anybody else watched the show, so I can go off on a rant?
