Some of you may remember that Mallory Ortberg wrote for Gawker for a week or three - I think on weekend duty. While she's a very good writer, I suspect the site didn't suit her strengths, or vice versa. In any event, she didn't stick around for long. Less time than, say, Bobby Finger. But she's continued to carve out a career and write for a number of outlets. This is a piece she wrote that went sort of viral several months ago, and here she's reading it to an audience at The Last Bookstore in L.A. recently (I think, there's no reading date on the YouTube page that I can see).
