As most people have undoubtedly heard, Ferguson, part of the St. Louis metropolitan area was the scene of a police shooting Saturday afternoon, when 18 year-old Michael Brown was shot multiple times by a police officer, even when laying on the ground according to witnesses, apparently for walking in the street.
I've surveyed the local stations websites and would like to embed all three of their news reports from last night, but Kinja is giving me the same issue with Chrome that I've had for the past few days and another of the videos autoplay, so I'm just going to post the links.
As you might expect, some of the stations have multiple reports and of course there will be updates, but as they say, "if you're just tuning-in" this is what occurred: an unarmed African-American teen looking forward to starting college next week was shot multiple times by a cop. The local chapter of the NAACP have said that they'll be launching their own investigation and they have asked the FBI to become involved with the case.
KMOV (for some reason this video has changed to a more recent report)
The Ferguson Police have scheduled a press conference 10 AM (Central) today (Sunday). I expect it will be webcast by these stations, along with several national outlets.
Follow-Up: Late Reports from Sunday or Day Two of this story.
