So the folks at Boston magazine were understandably miffed when they saw this cover of Bath magazine's February issue advancing the Bath Half Marathon March 2.

The Boston editors had come up with a striking image for their May 2013 issue to honor those killed in last spring's Marathon bombings, and turning the idea less than a year later into a generic I-love-a-marathon thing does seems wrong.

This kind of "borrowing" seems to happen a bunch with magazine covers, but rather than just accepting the Brits' "unreserved apology" the colonials suggested they buy into the spirit of the Boston cover and make a "significant donation" to the One Fund "in the name of those who were unable to finish the race." Bath magazine has published an apology, copping to "an error in judgment by not fully realising its connotations in the States" and promised to make a donation, Boston magazine reports.
