Based on recent headlines, you might have forgotten that former Gov. Eliot Spitzer and his estranged wife, Silda Wall ("Stand By Your Man") Spitzer, were actually still wed (seems like Eliot sure did). So perhaps it came as a surprise that New York's former power couple felt the need to announce on Christmas Eve that "our marital relationship has come to an end."

It's unclear if they are legally separated, divorced or just acknowledging they are no longer together, the Daily News says. Spitzer spokeswoman Lisa Linden had no further comment.

At least we got a good TV show out of it.
