and it's annoying the hell out of me. I never noticed it until I read this article by Adrien Chen,…, and now that I've read it I notice it all...the...time.

There's s an AT&T Internet commercial running here in the New England area. And the actress in it is annoying as hell! It irritates me to the point that I have to change the channel, or mute the TV whenever the commercial comes on.


I try to put some effort into the way I speak, but realize I can only do so much because I have a strong CT accent. But I'm wondering if this "vocal fry" trend is that difficult of thing for young women not to do (if that makes any sense, it's late, and my writng's getting sloppy)

I know in the grand scheme of things it's not that big of a deal, and I'm probable overreacting. But I can't help but to be bothered that this new way of speaking is bothering me.
