After record high corn prices due to drought, farmers are getting a bumper crop this year which have sent prices falling. Hoping to hold out for a better return and because of issues with rail, they've turned to an idea from Argentina for cheap storage. This prompted a reporter from Reuters to state something obvious;
Bagging keeps grain in better condition and for longer than the standard U.S. practice of piling surplus on the ground and covering it with tarps.
