I usually like Gabrielle's posts, but that Gore Vidal headline yesterday was pretty crummy: "Gore Vidal's Sister Says He Was a Pedophile". Vidal's sister didn't 'Say He Was A Pedophile'. His sister actually only implied that someone had dirt on him that he feared might become public, and then extrapolates to suggest it might've been some kind of evidence of pedophilia — a common enough accusation against gay men among people of a certain generation (Vidal's sister's generation, to be exact). Actually, though, the Times story illustrates exactly why his sister might've made those veiled accusations (not veiled in the Gawker headline, obviously):
