From gothamist, this is hilarious. Well, the NYPD tactic here is sad, actually. But the video of skateboarders just casually going around a barrier the cops can't hold in any one spot is like something from 'Benny Hill's Keystone Cops'.
I'm not even disputing the fact that the police felt like they needed to interrupt the semi-organized skateboard rally down (i think) Broadway. And maybe they diverted some of them. But they looked kind of ridiculous doing it. Maybe they just should've pepper-sprayed every boarder, cyclist, and pedestrian they saw.
