This is really interesting.

As a black woman who sports an afro to work, I long ago had to get over the notion that black and white women's hair styles had to be similar to each other.

Black women— relaxed or natural— style their hair differently than white women. However, it is kind of strange to me: if most black women are going to go through the trouble of relaxing their hair or getting weaves, then why don't they style their hair like white women?

In any case, we don't have to be or look alike to be equals. White women should style their hair in ways that work for them, black women should style their hair in ways that work for them.
