What do you want Crosstalk to be?
Be honest. This election is about who we are and what we aspire to.
Are we truly interested in just being Groupthink Light?
We are born from the chemically encrusted ashes of Daulerio's Pyrrhic victory over the commentariat. It was a dark day and many a star was lost. But we won the war. The commenters reign. This space on Gawker is ours now. Do you want to just throw that away?
Crosstalk is a place for ideas and expression. This is a place for creation and conversation.
We are better than just being another place with cats on the internet.
This is my post. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My post is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My post, without me, is useless. Without my post, I am useless. I must write my post true. I must write more than my enemy who is trying to troll me. I must post this before he posts it.
My post and myself know that what counts in this war is not the posts we fail to post, the noise of our keyboards, or the soda we drink. We know that it is the positive comments that count.
My post is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its software and its mouse. I will keep my post clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other.
Before God, I swear this creed. My post and myself are the defenders of my company. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America's and there are no cats, but peace.
