Celebrating Ludwig van Beethoven’s 245th Year Doodle

I usually don’t get too excited about Google’s Doodles(especially the static Doodles), but I have to admit this has to be among their Top 10 Doodles Of All Time. The interactive Doodles are always a fan favorite. But I’m almost certain that even those who aren’t really into Doodles, or Classical music for that matter, will absolutely enjoy this birthday celebration.

In this interactive Doodle/puzzle, a distracted Beethoven is rushing to his concert, and during his walk to the concert hall he trips, and falls. The aim of the “game” is to help Beethoven rearrange his masterpieces after a horse munches on his sheet music for a snack. It’s basically a puzzle, with his most famous works.

I especially like how it makes you think about how a hearing impaired person could possibly create such wonderful music. Amazing music that stir up so many deep rooted emotions in the pit of you stomach causing you to have butterflies(yeah...corny, I know). Bach’s Prelude to Cello Suite No.1 played by Yo-Yo Ma, and Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro sung by Kiri Te Kanawa gets me all teary eyed inside also. Obviously I’m no Classical music connoisseur, and realize my muddled review may not be an accurate description, and well worded like you might read from professional reviewer, but I know what I like, and I like this stuff.

I’m trying to pick out my favorite piece from the Doodle, but it’s damn near impossible. Between Fur Elise, and Moonlight Sonata, they all make me wanna cry(9th Symphony...not so much).

Help Beethoven arrange his masterpieces in today’s #GoogleDoodle:
