I thought you might enjoy an insider's look at the NSA. John Schindler is a former NSA manager who now teaches at the U.S. War College and has appeared on Chris Hayes's All In program. Before Edward Snowden did his deeds, Schindler was critical of NSA oversight and transparency policies and thought that the public deserved more information. He does not, however, endorse the Snowden method of providing more information! He is very knowledgeable about the intelligence apparatus, signal intelligence history, and espionage practices and methods. I follow him on Twitter.
His blog provides his thoughts about NSA and secrecy and his opinions about Snowden/Greenwald. Yesterday he wrote a really interesting essay speculating about the possibility that Wikileaks or Snowden may be a front (knowingly or unknowingly) for Russian intelligence. The essay linked above provides his recommendations for writers who write about the NSA and intelligence matters.
Let me know what you think.
