The paper can't even get a butt-fumble correction right.
This alert from inside last week generated great expectations (in some extremely limited circles):
"Very exciting development at work: we are preparing a correction that uses the term 'butt fumble.' I believe this is a first in New York Times history."
Well, today was the day, and what did we get? This:
SPORTS: Because of an editing error, an article on Sept. 30 about the Jets’ turnover-filled loss to the Tennessee Titans misidentified the site of one of the most embarrassing turnovers in Jets’ history — Mark Sanchez’s fumble in 2012, in which he lost the ball after running into his own teammate’s backside. It was in East Rutherford, N.J., against the New England Patriots — not in Nashville against the Titans.
"Backside"? No wonder print is dying.
